A collier equipment is a reputable dealer of Mauser Spezial machines, they can even dial it in for your needs before shipping. I bet there is some one closer, i'd expect any phaff/adler dealer could order them but having one in stock is probably a crap shoot

We use Softside all the time, nothing wrong with it in my opinion. Easy to work with and lots of places carry it. Sunbrella Horizon is the best out there that i've seen but expensive

Check the back of the on/off control switch box, they often plug in to there, should only be 1 receptacle that it fits into. Jusr route the wire through the belt slot but make sure it has clearance from the belt and is well secured

Pictures always help. Kinda sounds like the tension is set too tight. With too much pressure on the discs, the thread can want to jump out. Set your bobbin tension first then the top.

Ok, i was imagining a bunch of bolsters, pulls and curves. Square cushions will be no problem, i think it will turn out great. Just make good pattrrns and cut with a hot knife or pinking shears. You got this!

The tough part about sunbrella is going to be that it doesn't stretch. So your patterns need to be spot on, and steam won't help get wrinkles out. Can certainly be done, if it were me i'd put vinyl on the seats and upsell them on a cockpit cover .

Need pictures...machine, thread path from spool to needle, hook timing(if possible), top and bottom stitches. Also need to know thread and needle size

For top stitching, 138 and in my shop and that's really about the tops for upholstery machines. You can get many of them to use 207 but often have to make adjustments.

I would ask them to elaborate, 1541 is one of the more sought after upholstery class machines on the market. Perhaps they mean to suggest the model without the "S", i have heard that the safety clutch can trip a little too often.

Not seen a sunstar in person but there is a local dry cleaner that liquidated their machines a while back, and they were mostly sunstar brand. So someone either really liked them or they really hated them. @BigRig have you checked out Mauser Spezial? It's the little brother to Durkopp Adler and Pfaf...

Efka is well known for good drives. Jack brand is up and coming but seem quite popular. Have not heard of the other two but chances are they are comparable. At a glance, efka would be my choice unless it's double the price.

Looking at the diagram, i believe that the manual is referring to an oil tray in the top of the machine that has wicks to distribute the oil. Just saturate any wicks you see and give the tray whatever it can handle.i don't see an oil pump in the diagram.

Try college sewing, they are UK based. It's an easy swap. Nothing that the installer can do to make it faster or slower, you can set tge max speed with a button or dial depending on if you get a regular or brushless motor. I personally like the brushless

Use some sort of clear patterning plastic. We use clear shrink wrap. Mark your seam lines on the foam then pin the plastic to the foam to trace it out.

Depends, if it's got a wood back or a box cushion. On a box cushion, i add 1/4 seam allowance then sew at 3/8. With a wood back, use the wood as a template and add 3/8 and sew at 3/8. If i plan on top stitching then i goto a half inch allowance.

@BigRig , i have mixed feelings about Jack brand. I don't own any and don't typically advocate for the lesser known brands but they are actually good machines. All manufacturers do at least some assembly in China but Jack appears to be a state owned company, meaning that you are essentially buying ...

The sailrite LSZ and the like will get you by just fine if you don't have the space but with obvious limitations. Your sail will probably out weigh the machine and keeping the machine from sliding all over the table as you feed it can be frustrating but it's do-able. Something like a consew 146 is a...

Look for a slot on the back here

Loosen the nut and slide it to the top then re tighten. That will max out the climbing height.
