Im not a huge fan off gluing to aluminum either. Make sure you sand it and clean it with acetone first. That helps a lot.
@Cody Sorry for the late reply. So what I would do is cut the shape of the entire seat out of 3" foam. Then draw the middle pleat section out on the foam. Cut the foam on this line. Now glue the outside U shape you just cut to either 1" or 1/2" depending on how much difference you wa...
@Bondo497 You should be just fine with the sungaurd you ordered. Inconsistent thread tension in my experience is caused by bobbins not being wound even and tight. Make sure you bobbin winder is set up properly and you have the tension set fairly tight. Also make sure that the fingers that hold the ...
Sorry @Bondo497 Never see this stuff till you posted it. It sounds like it could be good but honestly for you just starting out, I would go with what everyone else has tested and used.
15% strength increase isn't enough for me to switch from what I been using for 10 years with no problems.

Not necessarily the spot on the out side of the seam allowance. Also make sure you cutting relief cuts in the seam allowance t...
Most likely there is a hem sewn on each end with a string inside or small rope, maybe a zip tie in side the hem. Once you install the sleeve is pulled over the round bun the string is pulled tight and tied off.
It will pay of a lot in the long run Mike!

That's a pretty sweet deal for 2k. I'm not familiar with sunstar. Ill have to check them out.
Yeah defiantly the easiest way for french seams. I don't consistently do enough french seams to justify buying one though.
Great information @Jayscanvas! I want the Adler 867 so so bad!
All correct observations @miket

Hi @miket !!! Welcome to the forum. Really happy to have you here! Those are some nice fish you got there in your picture! So I'm just going to give you my honest opinion on stapling seams together. I don't recommend you do it. I think its a bad habit to start when learning. It is best to learn to s...
