These were tricky because one was apart and missing parts and they were constructed differently, who’ knows what happened over the years to the old truck. Anyways I ended up mounting the vinyl on to cork sheet because I needed something I could sew through..... the 1/8 cork was a little to thin and ...
Good stuff John!
Couple weeks ago someone wanted his headliner, door panels and sun visors done for an old Jeep pickup. Never done anything like it before... I was happy with the door panels and the headliner but not so much for the sun visors
That was awesome, the patterning ideas are great! Defiantly learned something I can use.... nice job!
May as well throw some stuff up, KTM 690 seat... reworked the foam for the customer so I had to build a new cover
Took this old stool from a friends electrica business and added my own touch
My Yakumo likes a bigger needle for 92 thread, I’d try a 20 or 22. Some machines are really fussy when it comes to needles so I’d suggest trying a few in different sizes till you find it’s sweet spot

Unfortunately Weldbond landau glue is not available up here in the ice floes (Canada) so..... my wholesale supplier has a spray glue for headliners they had formulated (I was real skeptical) so I did a test of vinyl to foam and when testing it actually failed at the foam and not the glue joint. Hope...
I just went through this and had to tear my work off and get a layer of 1/4 foam on, I wasted a lot of time and material learning that lesson.
I’m doing a headliner in a customers truck and don’t anticipate doing many more of them.... so I don’t want to buy a spray set up , is there any decent aresol glues that will not fail or should I be looking for a contact cement and roll it on?
