My Juki 1541S (15 years old) started puckering material. Changed needle, thread, checked tension, cannot find a solution. Has anyone had this problem with a Juki?

Based of that you have been using the machine for 15 years no problems an now there is a problem... My guess would be that the foot and feed dog timing have fallen out of sync. The manual should show how to check that but I usually just take my machines in to a repair show to get a tune up when this happens.

Another thing to check is the presser feet tension. If the presser feet tension is too high it can cause this problem.

hope this helps

I find some of my problems are self induced, things like changing foot pressure or putting in a bobbin that’s isn’t wound tight enough (or too tight) changing needle and getting the wrong one or running through a lot of basting tape and gumming up the needle. Try to remember if you made any changes you can reverse along with what John said.
