A lady whose husband pass a couple of months ago, had no use for the machine. She donated it to me last week complete with table . Her husband used it for one interior in a 34 coupe. It has a clutch motor which is way to fast for me now and I don't want to have to get used to using it. I have a servo motor on the way now. It looks like a Consew knock off.
Any one have any experience with this machine?

Same as a consew 205. Double feed machine, drop feed with walking foot but no needle feed. Probably do better on the lighter end of your sewing spectrum, i wouldn't mind having one for certain things like joining and top stitching 2 pieces of stamoid for instance. Hard to stitch the light weight stuff on a triple feed without a bit of puckering.

I will give it a try to see if I like it well enough to keep. I have a variety of different feet coming for it.

I installed the servo motor a couple of days ago. It is very quiet. It still a bit faster on start than I care for. Going to get a smaller motor pulley to see if that works a bit better. You can set the speeds so they don't get to fast if that is what you want, nice feature. Just starts faster than I like. I can back out of it in 3 or 4 stitches then hold a slow speed.

I ended up with a 1.5 pulley that slowed the machine down to where it is pleasant to use. Seams like a smooth machine and really quiet. The 8mm stitches are really about 6mm and the 5mm are about 3mm. I will make an adjustment to that if I decide to use it for any top stitches. All and all I am pleased with the Yamata.

I always run some test stitches any time I change either thread size or stitch spacing.

Allows me to verify everything is good before I commit to the real deal.
