I am wondering what would a fair price be to remove and replace (build) a new carpet?
I have a customer with a Model A that had interior redone several years back, but the carpet has faded and has stains
so he just wants it replaced. I can get the materials but Im not sure what to charge for labor.
Reason being, it has been done before and all the carpet is glued to the floorboard. So I have no way of knowing what is underneath until I take it out. So the labor seems like it could be very difficult with the removal and he wants new sound deadening installed as well. It is a flat floorboard with no tunnel, so I don't think it will be hard to shape, but most concern is about the time invested in the removal and having to re glue everything in.
Just curious what some of your thoughts would be in this area. I want to be fair but also make some money in the process. I way undersold my last carpet job because of how much work it needed underneath, so I want to avoid that hit again.
Thanks in advance!
