Hi. I have a customer who wants piping on his leather seats. I've never done piping before, and I'm wondering if anyone sells thin strips of leather to wrap the piping cord. I know the obvious answer is to cut my own strips, but he wants a contrasting color to the main part of the seats. I can't justify buying a whole other hide just for some piping strips. Barring that, would it be a sin to use the prefab vinyl piping on leather seats?

I would talk with the customer and say. I can only buy hides in x amount. But if you’re alright, I can buy a vinyl for significantly cheaper as I only need A square yard. I do t think they’ll be bothered by that.
