Hello,

Newbie here. When I use my welting foot I either end up with no bobbin thread picked up or a giant bunching of thread on my backside of stitching depending on what size of welt foot I have installed. I have tried both 1/4 and 5/8 on my multiple layers of fabric.

Much practice has been done on regular stitch and I think I have a grasp on my tension. Could this issue be related to my bobbin thread? I wonder if they are not wound properly? The thread seems a bit uneven on them.....

So frustrated but I have installed new needle, checked by bobbin casing and its placement, feel like I am missing something.

Thanks in advance for any input!!

I just went through the same thing today.. Rats nest on the bobbin side, and shredding the top thread. Turns out that I did not have enough tension on the top thread. Ended up turning the tension knob in about 8 full turns.
