Forgot to mention to use steam (preferrable) or carefully use a heat gun and heat the vinyl up. It will lay down better.

I will cut back to about an eighth of an inch. If it is good quality vinyl and you don't use a pulley system to strech it on, it should be fine.

@Mikesimpson , I used Naugahyde Nauga Soft. Specs show it to be quite scratch resistant and is a marine vinyl. Feels nice.

word has it that these backs are permanently secured. They actually make a plastic cover to go over the top of the edges of a recover job. The owner went to a cart shop and they just wrap over the cut off edges of the vinyl with hydem. He seemed ok with that plan so that is what we went with.

so the cutout should have an opening 9 inches wide and the insert should be 11 inches wide. If these are your measurements it should work. Have you actually sewn this up yet or just visualizing it? As mentioned a pattern like this will be tricky on the corners.

I think @Jim is on to something. If you add 1/5 in on each side then the finished measurement will be a ful inch. not a half inch. That is one of the reason that a 1/22 seam allowance makes it easy to lay out. need 10x10. cut it one inch bigger... 11x11. Also I think you are going to have to makes s...

Anyone deal with CLUB CAR golf cart seats? I have a recover job to do and I cannot figure out how the plastic backs come off the seat. Looking at youtube the recovers are just wrapped around the existing seat and the plastic back and stapled and they use hydem to cover the stapled edge. This is not ...

i was gunning for a 563 but missed out. Nice machine. Not sure what you are talking about with the foam. Are you meaning just something to place down to catch oil drips? I just lay in some papertowels and toss em and replace periodically... I don't have the NPS. I wish i did. I may look into it. Tha...

I never did find a solution. But to date it only happens when i start for the day and only for a few stiches. I generally start with some scrap to check tension and everything anyway so it really isnt a huge deal. I have not had it happen after intial startup. It is just odd which odd thinkgs someti...

trim the seam allowance to about 1/8 inch and steam or carefule use of heat gun... or lay it in the sun for a while (it IS summer in Texas). Even with the seam allowance trimmed back try and make ure the seam allowance lays in the same direction. Great job on the seat by the way. Looks very god over...

Have you completly taken apart and cleaned the guns? Or just spray acetone through? when you spray acetone, does the spray pattern clean up? How old is the glue? What size is the tip? Have you tried thinning the glue with a little acetone? What air pressure? I am no expert with spray guns. Just thin...

i think the size of the diamonds is kind of a personal taste. but one thing to make sure of is that they are centered correctly within the seat. Make alignment marks and try your best to make the points, or whatever, line up against any straight edges. I do things a little different than what i see ...
