I’m probably known to blame timing first but it has been the most common fault with any of my machines, I attribute it to them slowly going out of time just from continually excessive pressure of being forced over heavy layers. Was there a last change you made before it started acting up, like needle change? I find most problems are caused by me changing something like a needle and getting the size wrong or other operator errors. Did you sew through a lot of heavy layers…… I always check, lubricate and time the bottom end ...
Great to have your expertise here
Well done, looks awesome
I don’t think the timing is different between them, I was lead to believe the only difference was the safety kick out (which means on a S the timing doesn’t get as disturbed as a result of a heavy hit
Can you glue it on to a piece of cardboard or boat window material to stiffen it?
I bought a new Juki about 6 years ago now and it hasn't skipped a beat …..but there are lots of other good brands out there.
I use an Osborn but they are evil, one slip and you have a puncture usually in the left arm (for right handers) from not keeping your body parts behind the fork. So far my stab count is 2 in the past 5 years. If it was me….. I’d consider either turning down the pressure feeding the staple gun so the...
Looks good, never seen a Titan before but it looks just like a Juki
I’m not sure what you are using on the edge but it’s way easier with a binding that’s made on the bias so it flexes on the corners. It looks like you are shooting for a double fold binding style with vinyl? A single fold binding will be far more compliant around curves. I use a lot of gross grain bi...
I use a shorter stitch (6mm) when joining panels and longer (10mm) for topstitching. Also try reducing the side pressure from your hand at the foot when topstitching ….. hope that makes sense.
My hands are going numb just thinking about it
I’m with Adam….. make it with a gusset, add some topstitching for strength with contrasting thread just for fun.
So the hook is hitting the needle on the upstroke? If so learning how to set the hook timing should cure the problem, what machine?
I let it intimidate me at first too, but after spending money getting it done and not really being much better I went to the internet university. Now it takes me longer to take the parts off needed to see what your doing (Juki 145) that to actually retime it and I can nail it every time. I recommend...
I have had nothing but great service from them over the years, I deal with Mark and if you quote the number on my controller he will be able to match it with the motor, I’m sure it’s the finest China has to offer
Masons sold me 2 of these for my Jukis, comes with position sensor and they have been flawless.
