I don’t use them because I buy tons of extra bobbins and wind them as I sew, usually I keep 2-4 wound for each colour.

I’ve had the same troubles …. ended up being my color thread was tight on the spool causing it to hang up while paying off causing high upper thread tension., which shredded the thread at the needle Try winding some on a bobbin and rig it for your top end thread or unwind a bunch and hand wind it ba...

I choose the 1541 and it was $1500 less than the 2810, my brother just bought a new 2810 on Friday and chose it because it has a longer and higher arm and a bit more foot lift….. which suits the kind of work he is doing. I love my 1541, it’s been a great machine.

The top thread should drag heavily with the foot down and it should take just a little forc...

What was the last thing you changed on your machine before this problem started? That thinking has solved a few problems for me. Look your thread path over good and make sure your spool feeds off easy (I’ve got a couple spools that were wound to tight and are unusable) Take some time to clean and oi...

For the future... you can safely wind bobbins while you sew, saves a lot of time.
