relief cuts are my friend , sometimes I just really have to work with material to get it to lay the best you can sometimes its the way you cut it out. Materials will have a little more stretch in one direction.

I have a cheaper version of one, I cant remember where I got it. it works well on some things and pulls the staple completely out without having to go back and use pliers to get the staples out.

make sure to do relief cuts on the curves and corners don't force it or hold it tighter , cause that will cause your stitches look different and not even.

Think I would use clear vinyl draw out your own panel! if the foam is good.

I don’t think the bobbin color matters as much. I had some gave to me ! Mostly neutral colors. I do think there is a faded burnt color I would probably use with a red. Mostly off white is what I have!
