@WILD BILL The motorcycle seat it was my first, I didn't use the old pattern. I covered half of it with maskin tape then drew out my pattern from that. when I was stapling it together I didn't use glue, maybe I should have , although it was tight. it had a pocket that was not secured to the foam in...

WOW Awesome , CONGRATULATIONS
I have yet to do a door panel , dread it somewhat. cause i know i will struggle. I have watched Johns video on door panels. I will rewatch it several times before i tackle it. Hope yours turns out well . good luck
I hope I don’t have many of those. They brought the back part later. It was fiberglass. Still had to replace wood on the ends. Replace the staple strips on the back. I had to heat the fiberglass up to get it to take a staple. I guess there is a trick to that.
There is a #44. # 33. But these are not rated to sew with leather. Is there a reason you need to go lighter on the thread ?
Well. I have done a few. I know the foam is about an 1/8 inch larger than frame. Using the pattern as an example. If I get it a little smaller than it actually was. I’ll be fine. Getting it to big and it not fitting back in the boat , not good. I know it’s a 1994.
Just saying you got to love it when people do this.
There you go make me a frame and cushion that might fit this.
Also If you have a pattern to go by , as you take it apart study the pattern to see how it was sewn. It takes some time and studying at times to figure it out. Ill mark it , study it, make some notes
along the way so I can get the easiest way.
@BigRig I do it in this order as well.
I do them often , I charge 100.00 as long as everything comes out and goes in as supposed to.
@WILD BILL, Thank You , You know I love tools . Especially ones that help make something easier.
