Late to the party here, but a lift of some sort may be the only option. If you can't get the curtains to the machine, you'll have to lift the machine up or hand sew. One of those portable sailrite machines would be handy here

If you're doing the whole boat, just need to get close. If it's a piece here and there, it'll be a tall order to match it. You can try to match the inside seam color as you stated but anything you don't replace will be faded and look different. Seabrook and allsport have a purple but then you get in...

I have loads of binders , everything from cheap ebay binders, sailrite, Tennessee Attachments and Atlanta attachments (i was told recently that Atlanta is out of business). Tennessee and Atlanta are in a different league. The sailrite binders are great for straight runs and outside curves but you wi...

Hello there and welcome to the forum. Quite an ambitious project you have there. I'd use staples if they're hidden and decorative tacks if they're visible. Burlap vs canvas is probably just a difference in preference between upholsterers as you stated that it had been re done before. Wood fillers wi...

Audio was pretty poor on my end on all videos but clearly the loop passing around the bobbin is causing the noise and poor stitching as you said it goes away without top thread. Was there a jam or anything that preceded this issue?

I consider those cartridge style tensioners as a consumable. The springs aren't so stout and break from time to time. Good idea to have an extra on hand

So this isn't necessarily a picture of the one he did but another in the restaurant that looks similar? Or one that he did longer than 3 months ago? It does appear that it could have been pulled tighter but there probably other factors involved. Could be that it is a popular booth in the restaurant ...

Welcome fred, well done! If i may...that'll be one hell of a piece of glass and i tend to drop things :joy: . Consider urethane for the table tops. 4 coats, sanding in between. Makes a nice hard, smooth surface with very low drag. The hot knife will however leave scars on the table. It killed me to ...

This is the best and most complete tutorial on adjusting your machine. It's long but there is a table of contents so you can skip to the section you are interested in.

I'd be looking at the thread release finger and check spring. Most likely thread release finger holding back the top thread for a split second too long

Unfortunately, that material is reaching the end of it's life. If it is stiff and not pliable, it will continue to crack. If you're just looking to get another couple seasons on it, if it's still soft maybe cut around the bottom of the base and sew in a new staple strip. You can pull it down a bit m...

The bobbin case opener taps on the triangular protrusion on the bobbin case. It must move the bobbin case enough to allow the thread to pass cleanly around the hook. The few stitches i can see look good so it can't be too far out of whack if at all. If it checks out, and only have issues at the end ...

Of course the basics always apply...pulling the thread tails for a few stitches when you start and making sure the take up lever is at its highest point when you remove the work. Bobbin case opener could need tweaking, check it's action on the bobbin case and make sure it's doing it's job

For me it would depend on the degree of disassembling it will require...well that's not exactly true, i'd run like hell from this project :joy: i hate doing furniture, but i digress. It's excellent. Same weight and warranty as sunbrella. I use them interchangeably. Recacril has a stiiffer hand but that is the only perceivable difference. The bimini's/enclosure on my personal boats are all recacril.
