Hi started a new thread here as my posts will be car related.

So I got my singer 211 back from the tech. He had to take out the bobbin casing and removed the thread I had managed to get behind it. When I started to use the machine I was ready struggling with a bird nest on thread on the under side of the material. Yes thread tension was the likely cause but could sort it out. I ended up removing the bobbin casing again and spent 1/2 a day teaching myself how to retime the machine. I now have a working machine. Much more due to luck than judgement :grinning:

As I’m new to this, I decided to give making a handbrake gator ago. ( I actually ended up make three before I was happy with the results) :scream:
Some photos of my efforts - bear in mind I’m a beginner

The patterning process.

Thankfully runs out at the bottom that isn’t seen.

I know it’s not perfect but gaining in experience and confidence with every job. Welcome any tips

That's awesome! It came out great.

Give your self alignment marks on you patterns so that you know you in line while sewing the 2 pieces together.
Also with a little bit of practice on french seams you will naturally get them a lot straighter.

Great job! Thanks for sharing.
