Boy, this took a bit of practice !!! It's not show quality, but for my ratty 2002 build, it's fine. This is the first wheel I have done.

To be absolutely honest, I wish I had left it well alone, it was worth a few hundred quid as it was  .

I am not hugely convinced with the shiny leather.

What do you guys use for recovering steering wheels. I'd prefer a more natural finish. Any good sources for leather ? I even bought a pair of leather jeans to cut up, but the material was a bit too thin.

You did a fantastic job! Those are not easy at all. Any automotive grade leather will work or wrapping steering wheels. You should have some really good leather suppliers available to you in the UK. The best quality leather typicaly comes from the UK and Europe.

Thanks John. I don't really want to buy a complete hide for just a steering wheel. Anyone UK based know of a decent 'offcuts' supplier.
