Hi,

I'm a newbie here, and I'm trying to reupholster my MCM dining chairs. I discovered that the foam inside the backrest has crumbled, resembling clay. I believe it used to be foam, but now I'm unsure about what to replace it with.
On both sides of the backrest, I found red crumbles. The front has cotton underneath the red crumbles.
Could you please advise me on what type of foam or cotton to use under the upholstery fabric for both sides of the backrest?
If I need to replace with a foam, can you please advise the thickness as well?

I'm so glad to find this website
