Hi I'm new to the forum and looking at buying an industrial walking foot machine. I'm based in Perth, Western Australia. There is a SEIKO LSW-8BL I've got my eye on and here is the ad description:

medium duty industrial machine , walking foot, very good running condition has been in storage for many years has table ,motor and reverse

I'm an experienced sewer and have dabbled in upholstery but nothing needing a heavy duty machine. I'd like to give this one a test sew and would love any advice on what to look out for. I'd like to be able to use it for upholstery - woven fabrics and vinyl/light leather, shadecloth, lightweight canvas.

cheers

A quick google search brought up a few threads in a leather forum where they state it is a clone of my 255.

Grab it!!! You won't be disappointed.

Add a servo Motor if it doesn't have one already

I'm now the proud new owner of this machine and both hubby and I had a lovely morning chatting to the seller and his father. His father John and my late father-in-law, also John, lived parallel lives but 13 yrs apart. Grew up in the same stomping grounds and went to the same school. John even offered for me to go over and he'll help me recover my Landrover Series 2A seats. Marketplace is great sometimes. Both father and son are motor trimmers with father long retired. Hubby got some pointers on machine adjustment too. No servo motor but seems to start off quite gently with a rock of the foot pedal.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers
